Alexander Mulligan and Claire-Anne O’Brien worked collaboratively to create a sculptural seating design for Urban Outfitters flagship store on Oxford Street, London.

The result, a multi-faceted and pleated landscape, perfectly combines O’Brien’s sculptural manipulation of textiles with Mulligan’s architectural influences and geometric patterning.

O’Brien’s pleated, folded, fades of mint and lime green, create a rich tactile surface that complement the hard faceted and angular triangles of Mulligan’s sculptural design.

The resulting structure is imposing, but somehow submissive. Both alive and dormant, enveloping and inviting, it serves as a welcoming canopy or resting place for shoppers to relax and regroup.
